Father's Day Card... Late

Hi all! Happy Monday to you! I know, Father's day was almost a month ago, but I never showed you what I made for my DH. Since tomorrow is his birthday (I won't tell you how young he's turning;) I decided to show you his Father's Day card! Yeah, I know, wierd. Anyway here it is: I used Stampin' Up Kraft Cardstock and the Symphony jumbo wheel. I colored parts of the images in with pencils. The two brads are from Gina K. Designs and I twisted some twine around them to hold the card closed. Here is the card with the top flap open:
I used the wheel again on Very Vanilla cardstock but used brown ink this time and didn't color it in. The sentiment is from the SU! Music Expressions stamp set and says "Musice Expresses that which cannot be said." -Victor Hugo. Here is the card with the bottom flap folded down:
The middle was left blank so I could write on it and the bottom panel has the main image from the Music Expressions stamp set stamped in brown ink. My husband is a musician, so when I saw this set I knew it would work for a card for him. Even though his brother is the one who plays the bass... Anyway, I hope you liked my LATE Father's Day post, and who knows, maybe I'll actually post my Hubby's Birthday card on tomorrow's post?!? Maybe...
Until then, be blessed!

A quick Sunday post

Happy Sunday! I just wanted to pop in and say hello and show you this card I made for a One Card Swap I'm in for July. Teri hosts these monthly swaps and it's so fun to make ONE spectacular card for someone and to meet a new friend while doing it. My partner this month is Kim in the UK (no blog that I know of) and while I know she hasn't gotten this yet, I hope she likes it when she does! I used images Sunny Glen DP from The Greeting Farm since that is my favorites right now. I made a stair step card since I've never done one before and there was a tutorial on Secret Crafter Saturday a couple weeks back. I hope Kim likes the card and I'll be sure to post the card she sent me as soon as I get it! Have a blessed Sunday, bye!

A Saturday SheetLoad!

LOL, seriously. It's Saturday and I want to show you my SheetLoad of cards from June! I can't believe I forgot to post this since I had so much fun with all the different embellishments. Well, first let me tell you what a SheetLoad of Cards is. SheetLoad is a wonderful site that posts a monthly SheetLoad of Cards issue. This monthly issue will help increase your card stash, one great layout at a time. For June's issue, I downloaded it, printed it out (because I love having the actual issue in my hands) and followed the simple cutting dimensions and made EIGHT cards! Then I went about assembling them and embellishing them to my heart's content. I had so much fun and discovered some new ways to embellish my cards. Here is my whole SheetLoad (you cna click on the picture to see a closeup): AND, I used the stamp (Spring Fever) that I WON from Shirley's 2 Girls Twisted Thursday challenge a month or so ago (click on the button on my sidebar to check out the Twisted Thursday challenges!). I stamped the image and colored it with my copics. I used Cosmo Cricket papers on the cards. Here you can see two of the embellishments that I made:
The white flower button originally came with a yellow center, but I popped that out and put the blue button with twine instead. On the bottom one, I added some red ribbon behind it to look like another layer of petals. Here are a couple more:
On the top you can see that I did the blue button on the white flower button again, but right below that I put a pink heart brad on a white flower button instead. They are both on a ruffled piece of ribbon. At the bottom of the picture you can see that I used white ribbon with a green button to make another type of flower embellishment. That one is my favorite! Here are a couple more:

The top blue button was threaded, the green button was threaded and then I used yellow scalloped ribbon to make a flower. The pink button was threaded with yellow floss and glued on top of a yellow flower button. Well, those are all the amazing embellishments for my SheetLoad of Cards. What did you think? If you have any questions on how I made any of them, let me know and I'll do my best to answer. I'm thinking of doing a whole post on making flowers and flower embellishments... I've had so much fun making them lately. OH, and guess what... I WON RUNNER-UP FOR JUNE!!! YEP! You can go HERE and see the blog post announcement. My SheetLoad won Runner-up! I am so excited since it was my first time entering! I'm working on my July SheetLoad. You can play too. Go HERE and check it out!

I hope you all enjoyed my post today and I hope you have a Suberb Saturday. Be blessed, I know I have!

Me Heart is Yours

Happy Friday Everyone! Today is going to be a relaxing day I hope, filled with sun and the pool and paying the phone bill... LOL! Seriously though, I am determined to have a fun day!
There was a fun little celebration for the mid-month release of some new Anya and Ian stamps and I made a card for a couple of the challenges. I combined TGF's FFF challenge and the Club Anya VSN Sketch challenge to make this: I love these pirate stamps! I stamped Pirate Any and Ian in brown in on Kraft cardstock and cut them out. Shaded a little with a blended pen and more brown ink and popped them up on foam tape. The FFF challenge was to use 2 stamps, punches and bling. I used FOUR stamps; Anya, Ian, the sentiment, and the skull. I used a couple circle punches and the flower trio punch. For the bling I used rhinestones in the flowers and gem circle sticky things on the eyepatch/belts/Anya's heart and I used shimmery brown cardstock. Here is another view of the card for dimensional purposes:
It's really hard to tell but the solid brown cardstock is shimmery! Oh, the patterened paper is a piece that I have been hoarding FOREVER because it looks like a pirate map! So Cool!
That's it for today. Go outside and enjoy God's Summertime Shine!
Until next post, be blessed!

Himawari Challenge & Secret Crafter Challenge

HI All! I told you I'd be back and BOY do I have a post for you! Grab a cuppa and be prepared for some pictures! I have participated in the Himawari Baby Challenge hosted by Denise of Denise Loves Stamps and there are some AWESOME prizes to be won. I combined this challenge with the weekly Secret Crafter Saturday sketch challenge. Well, I don't own any Himawari images (yet) so I emailed Jen from Pieces of Me and Denise and they BOTH sent me some to play with! Woohoo! I decided I needed to give back from all this fabulousness that I've been receiving, so I made a RAK (Random Act of Kindness) for my Aloha RAK partner with some of the images. The rest of the images will be used for a project requested by a friend that I'll be donating to a cause... more on that later! First, I was inspired by this weeks SCS sketch and flew with it for ALL of these items (although the sketch is used mainly on the notecards below). Here is the notbook I made: And the inside:
This is a little box I made and filled with 5 teabags:
This is the same box, only smaller to be filled with some chocolate squares (maybe Ghiradelli, maybe Ritter, gotta see what I can find):

Next is the FIRST things I made and here you can really see the sketch on the notecards. It's five notecards and a box to fit them all in! I came up with the box template myself (pats on back-thank you! lol!) and even made a lid for it! The box is in the center:
And here are all the pieces of the project together!
I have to say that I love the way this turned out. As a matter of fact, as soon as I'm done on this machine I'll be making another similar project for that cause I mentioned... But I'll post about that later. What do you all think? The Himawari images are just that; images already colored on a sheet of cardstock that you cut out and use however you like. If I had more of a single image, I would probably cut out pieces and make it more layered. I used some copics on some of the images just to give more shading. And the images are just the right size for ALL kinds of projects. I am really hoping to win the challenge because I want more images for myself! Ok, so I'm done with this post and I have a whole lotta stuff to do so I better get moving. Any questions on the project, please ask and I'll answer best I can.
Thanks for stopping by and until next post, be blessed!

Another Sunday post!

Geez, what is with me and posting twice in one day? I guess I just have so much I want to do and share, that I have to post twice! So if you didn't read my first post for today, scroll on down! I really wanted to participate in Tuesday Morning Sketches' very first sketch challenge. Since the challenge deadline is tonight, I finished up my entry and am posting it now! I should be sleeping since it's almost midnight here, but making cards is quite addicting at times. So here is my Psychadelic Anya card: Not only is this card for the T.M.S. challenge, I also made it work for Copic Creations Challenge #7 and Club Anya's VSN challenge #1!!! Three challenges in one; SCORE! For C.C.C.#7 our challenge was to color brunette hair. I followed a couple tutorials they had on their blog and changed it up a bit to make it work. While I was coloring Anya's hair, I totally went out of the lines and colored brown onto her face and RUINED her beautiful face! So I ended up cutting out the hair and glueing it onto a new Anya. Also, Club Anya's VSN Challenge #1 was to "Trip it up and stamp it out!" LOL! I had to make a psychadelic, retro, disco, or "trippy" card. I think this fits the bill! I used American Crafts designer papers from the "play" collection (I think). I decided Anya needed a HOT PINK dress so I stamped her dress onto neon pink cardstock and cut it out. OH, and just so she'd match, I made sure to color her undies hot pink as well...

ROFL!!! I just had to do it! Well, that's it for this post. I hope your Sunday's are are Superb and until next post, be blessed!
