Projects I forgot to post!

Now, if I did post these, please let me know, but I don't think I did! I made both of these projects for Michele, my blog candy winner, in January. I know I didn't want to post them here on my blog because she would have seen them before they got to her, so I think that is why I forgot to post them! Sometimes it takes FOREVER to get mail to or from Italy but Michele finally got these two projects with her candy and she liked them. YAY! Here is the candy slider I made for her:I also made this for my little stint at a Guest DT member with Anyone for Anya. I used Stella from The Greeting Farm and colored her with my Copic Markers. I tried something a bit different with her hair. I used auburn red/brown colors and sorta used the technique that I also used on the fairy you saw yesterday. ALSO, I used a gorgeous little pebble sticker that was gifted to me in a Secret Santa Swap with our Aviano Spouses group. Here is a pic with the candy slid out:
To match the candy slider, I made Michele a little calendar. I used Stella again, tried the same technique with the hair, but used browner colors (because I couldn't remember the redder colors I originally used, lol!). Here is a close up of Stella:
The layout was a sketch for Farm Fresh Friday or Saturday Sketches on the CA&F blog... I don't remember which. Again I used those awesome pebble stickers, but I also used a great little key and a clear clock embellie.
Michele says she takes her little calendar with her everywhere! That is sweet of her! Makes my heart feel good! lol! I'm almost out of projects to show you all, so I better get busy with my crafting! Oh, but I do have some more YUMMY food to show you... and I will be including recipes since you all asked! lol!

Rockin' Monday!

Happy New Week my Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Did you do anything fun? I hope so. So, I have an awesomely awesome friend whom I've never met in Real Life, lol. I'm truly hoping that she doesn't see this gift before she gets it... and since she doesn't have internet right now, I'm hedging my bets! I used the March 13th Saturday Sketch from Club Anya and Friends on the front of the slider.This is a GIANT slider! I haven't made one this big before... and I ended up needing to use a big piece of drawing paper since my 12x12 papers weren't big enough. And since this awesomely awesome lady LOVES Almond Roca, and since she's made some gifts for my kiddos... I had to get this for her! Truth be told, I saw this big box of Roca at the store awhile ago and thought of her... then bought it just in case! Hoarding Candy really WORKS sometimes! lol!
The Sketch that I followed has a circle in the upper left corner, but I really wanted to show as much of that background paper as possible, so I just used pearls to make a circle, then cut out and popped up a crown in the middle. I also used Heidi Swap heart ghost shapes and just inked up the edges of them a bit. The sentiment are all rub-ons from Basic Grey (I think) except the "a" which is a clear stamp from a little set I was gifted awhile back. So here is a close up of Rockstar Anya with her Crown:
I colored her with my copics, and her hair came out just as I envisioned it! I'm still learning how to do the "shiny" hair, so I wasn't sure if it would look good with this color combo, but it did! I also had to manipulate the image a bit to get the crown on her. The crown is a rub on (from Basic Grey maybe?) so I had to wipe off a section of Anya's hair before I stamped it. I colored the whole image but left that area blank. Then I rubbed the crown on and it worked out just right! That was pure LUCK! lol! So that's the project for today. The Last Christmas Post

...Maybe! I have this last Christmas post for you all before the holiday. First up, a beautiful pink and red Christmas card from Adela! This is another card using nontraditional colors, and I love it! She stitched the vellum over the tree for a soft look. It's so pretty. Thank you so much Adela! And here is a little treat I left in the mailbox for our postal worker today.

It's just a little bag full of local-style cookies with an adorable little tag. Gio, from Doodlefactory's Santa's Sweet Shoppe fit perfectly on this tag I picked up at an office supply store. I just stamped and colored with copics. Because the copics bleed through so much, the back of the tag was a mess and there was no where to write on the tag. So I solved that little problem by gluing another blank tag on the back of this one and writing on that! It was so easy that I'm going to be making tags like this for tons of occasions.

Tonight we are headed to a Christmas Eve Football Game between University of Hawaii and Notre Dame. It should be fun and the weather is beautiful for it! I hope you all have the most blessed Christmas. The kids are in for the BEST Christmas gift on Boxing Day! I'll let you all know about that later.

One more day til Thanksgiving!

Hey Blog Readers! We only have one more day until Thanksgiving. There are so many things to be thankful for. I have a lot of people in my life that I am thankful for. One of those people is my friend Carin, so I made her some stuff to let her know I appreciate her. Here is the little flower vase I made. I just put some Stampin' Up! rub-ons around the vase and added some ribbon to it to top it off. Next, I made her a little notebook. I just received some perfect images from an image swap. As soon as I saw them I knew they were the perfect cartoon versions of Carin and Me!

This image is called Huggybella and it's from Stamping Bella. Do you see the names I wrote along the edges of the ladies? LOL, yup, that's Carin and Me. I have naturally curly hair and Carin has straight hair, and the outfits even match our personalities! Well, I think I would have straps on my dress, but it's close enough. Here is a pic of the whole notebook:

I used the new Banbury DP from Stampin' Up! I love this paper. It has pink pirouette in it as well as some greens, blues, and it looks great with browns.

Another person that I am eternally grateful for is my husband, David. I won't get all mushy here on my blog, but I love that man. Since he's been in Korea for the last 11 months, 3 weeks, and 4 days (about, lol!) I try to send him paper hugs every once in awhile. This is the last one I sent him:

I used the adorable Cuddles and Hugs stamp set illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K. Designs. This card was also made for a challenge that Melanie put forth during the last GKD release party. The challenge was to use 3 or more stamp sets on one card, and I did! You'll have to go to my gallery of SCS (link on my sidebar) to read all the details on the card.

Another Post FULL of Pics!!!

Hey there blog readers! I have yet another post full of pictures. This one has more than the last I believe. Do you all remember me mentioning that I was working on a project that I couldn't post since it was a gift? Well, I gave the gift to the recipient and got permission to post it.

I have had the pleasure of babysitting a little girl who has become part of our family, and Angel's First Best friend! Her name is Maia and since I'll be moving soon (and so will they, they're moving to Alaska!) I decided to make a scrapbook for her and her family. I have taken a ton of pictures of Maia and Angel while she was here, so I had plenty of pictures to scrap. I'm not going to explain all the pages (they are pretty self-explanatory) but I may mention a few things about some of the pages. More Christmas from SAR

Hey there everyone! It's Wednesday night, and I'm tired, so there isn't going to be a lot of talking tonight... But there are pictures! At our monthly Stamp-A-Rama on Sunday, we did a card swap and a Secret Santa gift exchange. I'll post the cards and gift I received later, but here is the gift I made to give away. I put this gift set into a basket (can you see it behind the stuff?). Here are closeups of the parts of the gift. This is the pencil holder and lotion/body spray set. I used Summer Picnic DP and cardstock punchouts (I can't remember what they're really called- I'm tired, remember?) to make simple belly bands for them. The real red striped ribbon was tied in a bow and stuck on with a glue dot.

Here are the lotion/body spray set again, and a covered notepad. Same stuff used, plus real red and pumpkin pie cardstock.

I've had this window tin for awhile and was finally able to use it. I added in the magnets that I made a while ago, because I never used them or gave them away! They actually inspired the whole gift set. In case you didn't read that post (it was a long time ago) I unmounted some of my SU! sets, stamped on the blocks using Tart & Tangy stamp set, added magnet to the back and waalaa! Magnets! There are also two mini snickers with DP wrapped around them in the tin and it's tied closed with the pretty ribbon again. Alisha (my upline) actually picked this gift and she loved it. I'm glad cuz I loved making it and I want to make more now!

This is the Christmas card I made for the last SAR. I think I did post about it... Anyway, I used vellum to cover the cardstock which was stamped with the snowflakes from Snow Swirled in Brilliant blue and silver Encore ink. Then I stamped the sentiment from Heart Warmers in Silver Encore and embossed it. It looks so elegant irl, but this pic is fuzzy.

FINALLY, here are the cards I made for this SAR. I'm also sending a few of these out for Christmas to my family/friends so I made extra. If you get one, pretend to be surprised! lol! I used the top note die in my Big Shot for the actual part of the card that opens. Then I just glued it to the real read cs for a background. They were stamped all over with the snowflakes from Snow Swirled in White Craft ink. The sentiment was stamped in real red ink and punched with my cute and curly punch. Again, I used the great striped ribbon. I think that's it...

Well, I really need to "hit the hay" and rest up for tomorrow. I still have a lot to catch up on so I can pack away my stamping stuff. It will be a sad day when I finally tape up the boxes... but it will be a good day also because that will mean we have our orders! Speaking of orders, should I have a celebration blog candy when we finally get them? I'm thinking about it... I have some fun stuff I would like to give away and that may be the perfect occassion. What do you all think?

A gift set and a RAK

Hi Everyone! We had a busy weekend so I didn't get a chance to post, sorry about that. Saturday we had a yard sale that wasn't all that successful, but I did sell a couple stamp sets. I still have more that I need to sell before I move to Italy, but I have to get them photographed and posted somewhere. I'm thinking on SCS or Ebay, but I don't want to pay on Ebay. I tried Craigslist and that didn't do me any good. Maybe the second time will work better. Also, Angel's been a little sick, and she broke out into a rash on Saturday. It got worse on Sunday so we spent ALL day on Sunday in the ER. MAN! Everyone was sick and we waited for 5 (yes, FIVE!) hours in the waiting room! Sheesh! Oh well, she is doing great now.
Anyway, I am part of a monthly Random Act of Kindness group and I made this gift set to send out. I made a coaster magnet, a post-it note holder magnet, a notebook and matching pen, and an altered tin. I just need to get something to put in the tin (I ate all the gummy bears!Lol!) I used the Summer Picnic paper again. I think it's so happy and fun. Also, I was part of a Gina K. Designs Secret Swap and I got a beautiful decoration from JenMarie! She used the "He is Risen" stamp set which is so pretty in real life. I love the silver embossed cross. Thanks so much JenMarie!

Teacher's gift, finally

Yeah, talk about last minute, I know! Thursday is Andrew's last day of school and I just now finished up his teacher's gift. I had other things in mind, but Andrew wanted to give her this stuff, so this is what I worked with. Sorry for the bad picture, there's no good daylight left. I used Gina K. Designs new 1 free with 3 stamp set (I think it's called Summertime, or You are my Sunshine-can't remember) and made a tag for the foot pampering stuff, a belly band for the tea, and a card. We also added a bag of the most delicious chocolate. My son has good taste. He picked out the dark chocolate Ghiradelli squares! I wanted to keep them...

Well, that's it for my crafty post today. I'm gonna go play HORSE with Andrew before it gets too dark out. He wants to spend "quality time" with me before I head off the island... Goin' to Vegas baby! LOL! I totally don't talk like that! But yeah, I'm headed to Vegas. I'm looking forward to hanging out with some friends I haven't seen in WAY TOO LONG and them we're headed over to Cali to see some of the familia. Can't wait!!! Hey there people who read my blog... Happy love day. I hope you have people in your life that you love, and that love you back! Doesn't have to be a "significant other." It can just be your kids, parents, friends, family... I'm blessed enough to have lots of those, even if the majority of them are oceans away...

I've done a couple "crafty" things these past few days:

Gina K. Designs had a party on SCS, and I made these for the challenges. I'm a lazy blogger today so you'll have to check out my SCS Gallery for the recipes on these items... (it's in my left panel).

Also, I made another card that I'm really proud of... but i can't post it as the recipient hasn't received it yet.

A couple weeks ago, Ali Edwards posted a tutorial on her blog (again, on the left panel) for making a Valentine Book. So I made one and can now post the pics since it has been received by it's owner.

I learned how to sew to make this book! My mom taught me with some felt (not easy stuff to sew, it moves!) and it took a couple practice tries, but I did it. I used red felt I bought at Ben Franklin's Crafts, SU! whisper white and very vanilla cardstock, American Crafts chipboard hearts, various stamps from MSE! and All Night Media, and my white gel pen. I cut out the felt heart for the cover and hand stitched around it so it would be more defined on the cover.
