I Made it!-Sacchetto del Vino

Happy Monday Friends! So, I'm learning to sew. I'm learning VERY slowly to sew. I have gone to a sewing club meeting and made this:
It's a wine pouch. It's not the most complicated thing to sew, but I did it! I was so happy that it actually worked out! Here it is again:
I discovered that day that the presser foot on my sewing machine is missing. It must have gotten lost while I was carrying the machine around to get it to sewing club. So, needless to say, I haven't sewn anything on the machine since. :( I really want to get back to sewing on the machine so I can do more projects! I don't know when that is going to be possible but I do have a couple little things in the works that I am sewing by hand... but you'll have to wait until next week to see those!

I Made It-4 in 1!

Today I want to show you 4, yes FOUR, different things I've made lately. First up, I colored this little digital image from The Greeting Farm for my friend to hang in her house. I wanted to try a technique where I make the image look like a black and white photo, so I looked up a few tutorials on You Tube and grabbed my copic markers and gave it a shot.

Then I mounted it on some patterned paper. My friend will frame it and hang it in her new house in England. They are in the middle of the move right now :( I'm gonna miss her... ANYWAYS...
In other news, the hubby is deployed to Afghanistan right now and I wanted to countdown the days until he gets home, so I made this paper chain.
We remove a link every night before bed. Some links are made from plain white paper. Those links are for special days like Easter, last day of school, birthdays, etc. This way, we have little happy moments to look forward to as well as David coming home to us.
So, to stay busy while time passes, I've been trying to be more crafty. And this includes FOOD! I made a recipe that I've been meaning (since St. Patty's day) to try. These are chocolate Guinness cupcakes with Bailey's Irish Cream frosting!
Yes, there is Guinness Beer in the cake mix, and Bailey's Irish Cream in the Frosting! YUM!
Also, since the cupcakes were NOT made for the kiddos to eat, I made them THIS delicious Strawberry Shortcake!
I didn't make the cake part, but I slopped on the whipped topping and arranged the strawberries all by myself! LOL. It was SO GOOD that it only lasted about 15 minutes.
So that's it for this post. I hope you liked all 4 of my creations. See you all tomorrow for another Tidy Tuesday post! I'm on a roll! :)

You Totally Rock

Hey friends. If you're still around and reading this, then YOU TOTALLY ROCK. A lot of life has been going on over here, taking up all my blog time and blog energy, so I haven't been blogging. But that doesn't mean I don't have a lot of different things that I WANT to blog about. So, for today's "I Made it Monday" here is a card using Creeper Sasha:I played around with my watercolor marker and OMS to create this vintage black and white look. I really like this technique, but I need to work on it some more.

On a personal note, the kids are on Spring Break this week and I'm off work. We're going to enjoy the sunshine, sleeping in, and going on some day trip adventures. We've already planted a few flowers out front, and today we're going to try to walk around a few little Italian towns and explore. We need to keep BUSY or we'll all go insane. Also, David has been in Afghanistan for just over 2 weeks now. We're still adjusting to everything but I think we're doing ok so far.

I'll be back soon for another entry. I have lots to catch you all up on!

I Made It-Spaghetti Cupcakes

I love cupcakes. I love that they are individual-sized servings of deliciousness! And I love that you can make them into ANYTHING.... like this:I used the idea from my copy of Hello, Cupcake! I made these last September... but since my creativity mojo is still so low, I haven't made anything recently to show you all. The meatballs are Ferrero Rocher candies, covered in strawberry jelly. They were incredibly sweet, but yummy! I have been experimenting with my baking a little here and there so I will probably have more to show you in the future; if I remember to take pictures before my creations get all eaten up! See you all on Thrifty Thursday!

I Made It!

I now it's Tuesday and not Monday, but since I'm running a day behind, Here is my I Made It Monday post for the week. This Christmas I didn't make a ton of cards to send off to everyone. I did make some cards for people who sent me cards though, and I mailed them out AFTER Christmas. I was too busy and unmotivated to get the cards done on time. But it's the thought that counts, right? I used gorgeous papers and chipboard tags and whipped up these vintage looking Christmas cards.
I put them all on Kraft colored card stock and sponged the edges with brown ink.
I used Twine on a lot of the cards, as well as cream card stock edged with a Martha Stewart punch.

I hope you enjoyed Monday's post on a Tuesday! I'll be back on track this Thrifty Thursday. Until them, leave me a comment on my blog and let me know you stopped by!

I Made It!

It's Monday, Valentine's Day and my first official "I Made It!" post! A friend asked me to make a box that he could fill with 32 individual Valentines and send off to his significant other. Unfortunately, they can't be together for Valentines Day so he wanted something special for her. I used a Cosmo Cricket Blackboard Box to make this:
I had such a great time making this. My favorite part is the puzzle embellishment in the lower corner. I used the back of a Christmas chipboard tag, a metal thingy that I FOUND in a parking lot and a sticker of a puzzle piece. After my friend's girlfriend received her box, she gushed over it; especially the puzzle piece. Apparently they have some special meaning between the two of them when it comes to puzzle pieces... and I just happened to add that embellishment onto the box! It was all meant to be.
Well, I hope you all liked my first post on my revamped blog... let me know and don't forget to SMILE!
