They checked their mail...

And this is what they found:
I sent this card to my Bro-in-law. He has achieved some GREAT things lately! I saw this Riley Moose stamp and new I had to get it to make this card. I sent it to my Bro-in-law to congratulate him on becoming a flight instuctor. He didn't get the card for the longest time (they don't check their mail very often;) but when he finally did get the card, it was right after passing another big flight exam! So, God's timing worked out once again. I don't remember all the ingredients for the card but I do remember one thing: see the clouds and the word "congratulations" in the second picture? I didn't emboss them! I used this really cool pen that makes it look embossed wherever you write! I love it! I know I used very vanilla card stock to stamp on, and the ink is Stazon Jet black. Also Riley is colored with blender pens and chocolate chip ink. The jet is paper pieced (as is the banner) and I used a making memories brad as well. The brown card stock and the silver paper for the plane are Playshop Papers. The red is from my stash. I think that's everything...

Anyway, I haven't forgotten my little trivia contest. I pulled a name out of the hat, and Julie won! I'll be getting your little prize out to you probably tomorrow. And so you will all know, Angel's peeps are the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty; Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather, and the one in purple is THE FAIRY GODMOTHER from Cinderella! Finally, some pictures... and maybe a reward?

Now bear with me if I don't remember all the ingredients to these projects, it's been a little while for some of 'em! The first one says "u r like no udder" LOL! Isn't that funny?!? I think it is anyway. I've had this funny stamp since it first came out with Stampin' Up! and this is the first time it's seen ink! Poor little thing. I used American crafts Thickers and ribbon; copics, watercolor pencil and white gel pen for coloring; Playshop paper and Stazon Jet black ink. This one is done with basic gray paper, and card stock from Tres Jolie. Also used twine from something I got a while back (maybe on a gift?-can't remember) my hole punch, some making memories brads and I embossed the quote!!! Mommy is wonderful and bought me an embossing gun. Glad she did cuz I finally finished this project. It was sitting on my table (ok, table leaf on the floor-see previous post) for almost a week. I saw a tutorial for this little box on... um... OH SHOOT! I forgot who's blog it was on! I remember how their's looked, and she's using it to put scripture cards that she makes in it... SHOOT! I'll have to edit later with the info. Sorry.

And then there's this card... what to say? what to say? I'll say I don't like it. It didn't turn out as planned, and the heart isn't the right color pink, and the brown ink that I used for the flourish under the heart turned sorta red when I stamped it on this paper (then embossed it). Sooo, it's ok, but not great. The ribbon is SU! and the chipboard heart is American crafts. The paper is Tres Jolie again (got a TON of it at a stamp show for $1 per 5 pages! YEAH! shoulda got more though) and the ink is Colorbox (the brown that turned red) and SU! chocolate chip.
Once a couple people check their mail (Kristel! Paul!) I can post a card that I made that came out great! Now for some non-crafty stuff...

This is my Angel Baby having an intimate conversation with her new favorite peeps:

I believe the conversation went something like this: "Yesterday my biggest brother got a funky hairdo. It was worse than mine! They called is a mowbird or something. And then he turned it a strange gold color. But you'll never guess what happened next..." as she leans in for emphasis:"He turned it PURPLE! NO really! PURPLE! Crazy boy!" End of conversation cuz she wanted to eat (of course!)

And here's a pic of my Big Boy with a purple mohawk:He loves it, and that's alright with me! As for The Boy... poor guy was sick for a couple days. He is normally a bundle of preschool-energy (being 4 and all) but this day he just sat around feeling crappy. His fever got really high the next night, he was sweating buckets all while claiming he was cold! Luckily Tylenol brought it down quickly and he was his normal bouncy self the next morning. See his "get better" diet? Popsicle, Sprite and crackers. All he could handle, poor boy.Ok, so if you've actually stuck around and read ALL the way through this monstrous post, I wanna give you a chance to get a little something from me. It's very little, just a card made by me and one of those little Studio G stamp sets in my box in the 2nd picture. So, whatcha gotta do is... comment on this post telling me the names of Angel Baby's 4 new favorite peeps. Not just who they are, but their names! quick post

It's been too long since I last posted. I've been busy, but haven't been as crafty as I'd like. I think I'll try to make up for that tomorrow. The boy was sick for a couple days, and the Big Boy started wrestling today! Man, that is an intense sport. I knew it was (from high school experiences) but I didn't realize how intense it would be for 9 year olds. We'll see how long it lasts. He wanted to give it a shot, so it's up to him if he decides it's not for him. At least he's trying different things.
I did something fun a few minutes ago. I took a typing speed test. Here's my results:

So, I was looking at my blog this morn, and realized something. I referred you all to check out Ali Edwards blog, but her blog was named {A}. How are you guys supposed to know that? Duh! So, now it says {A}-Ali Edwards. Go check her out. Also, I referred you to check out my Gallery at SCS. Well geez! SCS is on the left panel, but not a link directly to my gallery! And since you don't know my SCS name, you probably wouldn't find my gallery! So, now that link is there too. Finally, I added Turtle Chronicles. Remember the scrumptious ribbon I got from Deb? Well, Turtle Chronicles is her blog so check it out too. But don't do much on her blog, it's under serious renovation and clicking around too much may cause issues... step lightly ;). Hey there people who read my blog... Happy love day. I hope you have people in your life that you love, and that love you back! Doesn't have to be a "significant other." It can just be your kids, parents, friends, family... I'm blessed enough to have lots of those, even if the majority of them are oceans away...

I've done a couple "crafty" things these past few days:

Gina K. Designs had a party on SCS, and I made these for the challenges. I'm a lazy blogger today so you'll have to check out my SCS Gallery for the recipes on these items... (it's in my left panel).

Also, I made another card that I'm really proud of... but i can't post it as the recipient hasn't received it yet.

A couple weeks ago, Ali Edwards posted a tutorial on her blog (again, on the left panel) for making a Valentine Book. So I made one and can now post the pics since it has been received by it's owner.

I learned how to sew to make this book! My mom taught me with some felt (not easy stuff to sew, it moves!) and it took a couple practice tries, but I did it. I used red felt I bought at Ben Franklin's Crafts, SU! whisper white and very vanilla cardstock, American Crafts chipboard hearts, various stamps from MSE! and All Night Media, and my white gel pen. I cut out the felt heart for the cover and hand stitched around it so it would be more defined on the cover.

Hi All you blog hoppers! Thank you for checking out and commenting to my blog. As you can see from the button on the left, my blog is no longer worthless! Now it's worth over $500 bucks. Yea! LOL, I think that little button thing is funny so I'm going to recheck it every now and then to see if my blog starts earning a decent spot in the web-world.

Now check out this beautiful card I received yesterday! Deb (her blog is Turtle Chronicles-check it out from the link on the left) sent me some scrumptious ribbon and card just because she liked my answer to a question she asked on her blog! She gave away some blog candy, but I didn't win. Since she thought my answer was so great, I got a consolation prize-and this ribbon is a GREAT consolation! I am so greatful, Thanks Deb! I already used it on one of my cards... but I haven't taken a picture of it yet so I'll post it tomorrow. Today was a pretty good day here on Oahu. The weather was decent (for the first time this week-sheesh!) and we went to the ProBowl Ohana Day at the Aloha Stadium. We had Amazing seats (woohoo for VIP tickets-thanks Grandpa Bob!) and got to see all the players up close. Mom actually met a few of them at work yesterday. She gave them a tour of things on the Army base and they all played with the weapons simulation. Since I don't follow football all that much, I don't know who the guys were. Sorry. After that, we went to some places for me to SHOP! Mom spoiled me a little and I got some new stamping toys (paper mostly) that I'll be playing with later. Well, that's all for now. Gotta get my boys to sleep since it's after 10 already! It's gonna be tough getting them to church on time, oh boy! Till later skater!

See? I said I'd post my word of the year scrapbook page! It's a work in progress right now. I think I'm going to add to it as more "patience" ideas pop into my life. Right now it has a lot of scriptures on it and some of my own thoughts about being patient. The page is on a 12x12 piece of Basic Gray cardstock, some matching alpha's from the same Basic Gray kit and there is a matching tag used too. I used American crafts Thickers the the big black word (LOVE thickers!) as well as AC ribbon on the tag. The green alpha stickers are from my "mystery stash" (don't know where I got it!) and I used a couple pens from Wal-Mart.
In other news...

It's been a busy week so far, thank goodness there's only one day left! My grandparents are in town and it has been so nice to spend time with them. We went to a luau on Monday night and they accidently got suckered into going onstage! They've been married 55 years, and since that was the longest out of everyone at the luau, they got picked on! They danced together onstage... the first time dancing together in Many Many Years! It was great. Aren't they adorable? The look on Grandpa's face is priceless! Grandma got a much better picture of them dancing on her camera, but since it's not in my computer I can't post it, sorry.

Well, I've been wanting to post this since last Friday... JULIE ROCKS! I love you Jules! Friday I got 2 (Two!) cards in the mail from my awesome friend Julie! Then, on Monday... I got another one! Aren't they great? The perfect thing to get on a gray day. THANKS JULIE!

Now I have to ramble a little... feel free to scroll down to the other pics if you want. I won't blame you! So, in the midst of writing this blog post, I was also chatting online. (Yes, I'm a MAJOR multitasker-to a fault!) I realized that while I pray for people near and dear to me, and a few people I've met online, I don't really pray for people I don't care for. I know, I know, but really! I have been SO blessed with friends and family who take care of me, love me, pray for me, and are actively in my life. Not everyone has what I have. Some people don't have a safety net of people around them to help them out when they need the help. There are people out there who don't know God and REALLY need him. If I can't actually introduce them to Him, I can at least pray. I talk to my Mom about people who are in bad situations (such as some horrible things that have happened here on the island concerning domestic abuse) and we are grateful to God that we aren't in those situations. But do we pray for those people? I don't. I am going to try to start doing that. I am going to pray for someone that I don't necessarily like, or know very well. If I know that person needs God, I'm going to pray that their needs be met. I was majorly convicted about this just 10 minutes ago, so that's what I'm going to do. OK, back to the other stuff now...

I've done a few cards this week, but I haven't been completely happy with all of them. I think I lost my "mojo" a little. I know it will return, so I'm going to keep on going! It's now HOURS after I started this post, so enjoy the pics and I'll edit later with the cards recipes! Goodnight. EDITED>>>

This one is for Mojo Monday sketch challenge MOJO23. I didn't like it as I was making it, then once it was all together, I liked it! Funny how that happens sometimes.

"Pacifier Congratulations" and "Cupcake Birthday" card recipe: Paperbilities pastel purple paper (say that five times fast! LOL) , SU! very vanilla, mint green paper from my "mystery Pile"; Stazon Jet Black and Violet, SU! watercolor pencils and blender pen; SU! warmest Regards and Little Layers Stamp sets. (These were simple and quick, not sure how I like them though...)

I Don't like this next one... "Puzzle" card recipe: SU! apricot appeal and ballet blue cardstock, red cardstock from my "mystery pile"; SU! Ballet blue ink, Staz-on Jet Black ink; American Crafts Ribbon... I started this one off to incorporate the SCS Color Challenge CC152 and the sketch challenge CPS50. After doing a different background and hating the way it looked, I went back a couple steps and did this background instead. It came out better, but still not something I like. Oh well, learn from mistakes, right?

Just a quick post...

I want to thank EVERY ONE of you who has commented for me. I really wanted to send individual thanks, but time keeps passing by me so quickly. I also have some cards to blog about, but again, running out of time (and daylight to take decent pics of them). So, today's plan is to get caught up on some cards I need to make, then, if time hasn't slipped away, take some pics and blog about them. Gotta get moving though, have a precious few minutes left before my Angel Baby wakes and needs some food!

It's gray outside today...

and so is my mood. Some days are a lot harder to get through than others, you know? Why does God let people act stupid? Is He really letting us learn from our mistakes, is He trying to warn us or stop us, and then we ignore Him? And why do our mistakes have to have such long repercussions? What's the word... longsuffering. Yeah. Longsuffering sucks. Needless to say, I'm not in the stamping mood today. There are a few things I've made but haven't posted but I'll get to those later. Maybe the rest of the day will get better. Sheesh, it's only 12:30 here, I have many hours left to go.

I HAVE A NEW NIECE!!!

Yes! My b.i.l. Jacques and wife Kristi have a brand new baby girl! Selah Valentine was born yesterday! (Selah from the Psalms, Valentine cuz that was her due date) 7 pounds, 19.5 inches long. This is such a blessing to our family! Congratulations you guys! Love you and can't wait for our baby girls to play together!

My limit must be 3

First off, I'm sorry. For many things, but in this post I'm sorry for the horrible pictures. Mom just got a new camera that I don't know how to use yet, there is no sun out, and the pictures look bad. Maybe I'll retake the photos tomorrow when the sun is up. ANYWAY... I made three cards today. To know why my limit must be 3, you'll have to keep reading (or skip down to the end-I won't hold it against you;p). Verve Visual is this stamp company with beautiful products! I don't own any... yet... and they are going to have more soon! They put out a sketch yesterday that I decided to try. I'm glad I did. I have a new favorite!
This is my new favorite card. I used Fiskars baby blue and beige paper, and the background paper is Basic Gray. When I cut out the background, only 2 edges were distressed, so I had to distress the other 2 sides with my sponge dauber and close to cocoa ink. The image stamp is MSE! Romantic Sentiments, the ribbon is American Crafts and the brad is from Making Memories. I love this card and will probably keep it. Or maybe send it to someone extra special, we'll see. This was actually the 2nd card I made. The first one was a little tougher to get through. I just couldn't make it mesh for some reason, but I like the final outcome.
I used SU! River Rock and Groovy Guava DP cardstock as well as Fiskar's beige. The stamp is MSE! Romantic Sentiments and the brads are Making Memories. Boy was I happy when this card was done! Whew! Next I decided to give the Verve sketch a bread and tackled Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I wanted to stick with a Valentines theme but not too Valentine-y. So I added in the black and I hope it's not too Valentine-y. This card came together in a snap. It's extra long (8 inches) but will fit into a legal sized envelope just fine. I used Fiskar's red cardstock, Colorbok black and pink textured cardstock and SU! whisper white. The stamp is SU! Both Way Blossoms, ribbon is American Crafts, and the brads are Making Memories. I also used my white gel pen to put a trail under the heart brads and on the little tag I made. Isn't it cute? I just used my SU! tag punch then took a 1/4 inch off all 6 sides of the tag. Came out the perfect size!

Angel Baby HAS to be involved in my "creative process"! LOL! See her there? In my lap? She was just NOT happy laying in bed during her nap, knowing that I was stamping! She's so silly! Really though, she felt kinda yucky considering today was her 4 month well baby check up and all us Mom's know what that means, SHOTS! And 4 (FOUR!) into her teeny little chubby legs. Poor thing. She's been uncomfortable and achy all day. Oh, and Yes, I stamp on the floor! I'm using the leaf (Laugh, it's ok, it's funny) from my Mom's dining room table. I live with My wonderful Mom and StepDad and Grandma, AND me and my 3 (THREE!) kids. So, yeah. Crowded and NO extra room for me to have my own stamp space. So, I stamp on the floor of my bedroom that I share with my baby. In case you're wondering, my boys share a room, Mom and SD share a room (of course) and Grandma (we call her Abuelita) has her own room (and bathroom too! spoiled!). We aren't too crowded really, just nice and cozy. OK! So that's enough blogging for one post. Have A Wonderful Weekend!

Just a little rambling about life...

I have done some crafty stuff, but I'll blog about that later. I need to ramble on about life for a short minute. My best friends' Mom, Mary, has cancer. Stage 3 breast cancer actually, and is currently going through chemo. She just completed round 2 yesterday and has about 18 more weeks to go. She is going through all kinds of stuff right now with the treatments, dealing with the after effects such as nausea, hair loss (actually, shaving it off in anticipation), and everything else that goes along with that. With all that to deal with, she still takes time to send us updates and even inspiring emails. She is such a testament to what God can do for us in our lives if we just let Him. She has been a tremendous inspiration in my life. I don't know how to put into words how her life is inspiring me. She is SO strong in the Lord and He has shown Himself to me through Mary so many times and in so many ways. That's all I'm going to say about that now. I'm going to just pray for my MommaMary and I ask that any of you who read this send up a prayer for her and her family as well. Thanks!
