Fat Tuesday on Wednesday!

Hey Hey Hey! Can you hear Fat Albert saying that? LOL! So, you all requested recipes along with the yummy food stuffs that I post, well, here's one for ya! It is SUPER simple to make, SUPER delicious, and messy too. I love yummy messy food! I first saw these on Bakerella's Blog, but I didn't want to get all fancy with them and put those adorable little shamrocks on them, so I just made the original ones. I was calling these Oreo Truffles, but my neighbor calls them Death By Oreo! Here they are naked:And here they are all covered in white chocolate!
Want to know how to make them??? HMMM??? Ok, so grab a package of Oreos (not double stuffed, just regular) and grab an 8oz block of cream cheese. Pulverize the Oreos until they are crumbs (I put them in a baggie and beat them with a spoon, but a food processor would probably work better and faster), combine the crumbs with super soft cream cheese (I put my cheese in the microwave for a bit to super soften it) and then form into balls. I ended up using my hands to combine the concoction, and it was fun and messy (and tasty too!). Then you'll want to melt some white chocolate bark or morsels (NO BARK AVAILABLE at my commissary! Boo!) and dip the balls in the chocolate. I ran out of chocolate as you can see on the upper left of the picture, but I figured a little chocolate on top was better than nothing. lol! Then just let your Death Balls harden! I had to put mine in the fridge to keep them out of the kids sight... once the children discovered these delicious things, they pretty much disappeared! Bakerella made much nicer looking Truffles, but I'm not as talented as that fabulous lady so mine are just ok. If you try these, let me know how they work out! My Royal Battle #1 Card

Hey there friends! Did you all go vote for the Time Travelers' Card yesterday? I sure hope so! If not, you may still have time. I found some Scrabble paper, and it even had the right colors on it! Then I inked up Teacher Anya, altered her just a bit, and made this card:

FINALLY FRIIDAY!!!

All I have to say is, THANK YOU GOD that I made it through this week! It's been a tough one. So much stuff has transpired over this last week, I can't even begin to talk about it all. Today is gray and rainy out (the weather is reflecting the week I had!). It is one of those days that I just want to pop in a movie, snack all day, and do NOTHING! It would be fabulous to have a pj/movie day today! But alas, I must finish laundry, wash dishes, sweep/vacuum/mop the floors, and clean up a little here and there. I plan on getting some crafting in too. I have a card to make for TGF's Royal Battle! My team and I are all making a card for each week's challenge, then we'll decide which card to submit into the challenge. That way we all get to play, even if our team is cut from the competition early on... but my team is so AWESOME I really don't see us getting cut any time soon!!!

So, let me tell you about a highlight of my week. Tuesday had some super fun parts to it. I was able to go with Ashton to the Aviano market for his school field trip. Here's a picture of him being goofy after we had walked around for a bit:We got to look at all the different vendors at the market, purchased some mele rosso (red apple) for his class to use in a fruit salad, and just hung out until it was time to head back to school (for him) and work (for me). This is him with his red mustache on the way to the market. (btw, I have no idea why that section of text is different and underlined! sorry!)Oh, and in case you were wondering... that little brown spot above his right eye? He ran into a pole and had to get stitches! Well, glue stitches but still! Silly boy. Now, onto crafty stuff!
I won a super candy from the fabulous Amy a bit ago, and I had to CASE the card she sent me and use the goodies I won to make a spring card!
I absolutely love Amy's Sweet November stamps, and coloring them is so relaxing. Obviously I didn't do a ton of coloring on this bunny image, but I did use one of my W Copic markers to make his outfit look white. It wasn't difficult, lol. The only thing used on this card that didn't come in the candy are the little pearls that I used in the flower centers. I actually got those because of all the beautiful pearls that Amy uses on her cards! So their purchase was inspired by Amy, lol. Now, on a lighter (whiter) note... look what I found! OMW!!!
Yes, that is a WHITE hair on the top of my head!!! It's not the first, but it is a repeat offender! lol! I get that annoying hair sticking out of my head every so often, and no matter how I try to hide it (pluck it, dye it, etc.) it keeps returning! ROFL! Just thought I'd end this post on a light (white) note! Enjoy the rest of your Friday!

Kadie's Yummy Candy

Hey there friends. I have had a busy week but I'll be back later today to post up some of my creations. In the meantime, check out this amazingly delicious candy that Kadie is giving away! Projects I forgot to post!

Now, if I did post these, please let me know, but I don't think I did! I made both of these projects for Michele, my blog candy winner, in January. I know I didn't want to post them here on my blog because she would have seen them before they got to her, so I think that is why I forgot to post them! Sometimes it takes FOREVER to get mail to or from Italy but Michele finally got these two projects with her candy and she liked them. YAY! Here is the candy slider I made for her:I also made this for my little stint at a Guest DT member with Anyone for Anya. I used Stella from The Greeting Farm and colored her with my Copic Markers. I tried something a bit different with her hair. I used auburn red/brown colors and sorta used the technique that I also used on the fairy you saw yesterday. ALSO, I used a gorgeous little pebble sticker that was gifted to me in a Secret Santa Swap with our Aviano Spouses group. Here is a pic with the candy slid out:
To match the candy slider, I made Michele a little calendar. I used Stella again, tried the same technique with the hair, but used browner colors (because I couldn't remember the redder colors I originally used, lol!). Here is a close up of Stella:
The layout was a sketch for Farm Fresh Friday or Saturday Sketches on the CA&F blog... I don't remember which. Again I used those awesome pebble stickers, but I also used a great little key and a clear clock embellie.
Michele says she takes her little calendar with her everywhere! That is sweet of her! Makes my heart feel good! lol! I'm almost out of projects to show you all, so I better get busy with my crafting! Oh, but I do have some more YUMMY food to show you... and I will be including recipes since you all asked! lol!

Rockin' Monday!

Happy New Week my Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Did you do anything fun? I hope so. So, I have an awesomely awesome friend whom I've never met in Real Life, lol. I'm truly hoping that she doesn't see this gift before she gets it... and since she doesn't have internet right now, I'm hedging my bets! I used the March 13th Saturday Sketch from Club Anya and Friends on the front of the slider.This is a GIANT slider! I haven't made one this big before... and I ended up needing to use a big piece of drawing paper since my 12x12 papers weren't big enough. And since this awesomely awesome lady LOVES Almond Roca, and since she's made some gifts for my kiddos... I had to get this for her! Truth be told, I saw this big box of Roca at the store awhile ago and thought of her... then bought it just in case! Hoarding Candy really WORKS sometimes! lol!
The Sketch that I followed has a circle in the upper left corner, but I really wanted to show as much of that background paper as possible, so I just used pearls to make a circle, then cut out and popped up a crown in the middle. I also used Heidi Swap heart ghost shapes and just inked up the edges of them a bit. The sentiment are all rub-ons from Basic Grey (I think) except the "a" which is a clear stamp from a little set I was gifted awhile back. So here is a close up of Rockstar Anya with her Crown:
I colored her with my copics, and her hair came out just as I envisioned it! I'm still learning how to do the "shiny" hair, so I wasn't sure if it would look good with this color combo, but it did! I also had to manipulate the image a bit to get the crown on her. The crown is a rub on (from Basic Grey maybe?) so I had to wipe off a section of Anya's hair before I stamped it. I colored the whole image but left that area blank. Then I rubbed the crown on and it worked out just right! That was pure LUCK! lol! So that's the project for today. Fun Friday!

Hello again Friends! Can you believe that I had a post up EACH DAY this week??? I can't, lol! I hope this trend lasts... I'm enjoying hearing from you all! Keep the comments coming! So today's post is a bit different. I want to share with you one of my favorite things that is NOT crafting related. It's my purse!This, my friends, is one of my favorite purses. It's a Carpisa! Carpisa is a nice, yet affordable Italian Purse company. They specialize in Leather purses, but also have these fun bags as well. I totally scored when finding this bag. It was brought into the Thrift Store and I got it for just $10!!! I love working at the Thrift Store! Here is a pic of the top flap open:
You can see that there are two inside pockets. There is plenty of storage for everything I need, and just a bit extra space for other things. In the front pocket I keep... my matching wallet!
Isn't it adorable??? I loved the purse at first sight, then I discovered that it came with the matching wallet, and I was SOLD! AND, the inside of the wallet is a fun shade of PINK!
There are plenty of little spots in the wallet for everything I need, and extra things I don't need! lol! I love my new-ish purse so I just wanted to share it with you all. This is actually my second Carpisa Purse. The first is a little YELLOW bag that I handed down to Angel Baby when I found this one... I'll have to show you a pic of that sometime too. Sweet November Fairy Calendar

Hello Friends! How are you all on this Thursday? The week is almost over, and FUN times are ahead for me! Tonight I should be going to see Alice In Wonderland (YAYAYAYAYAY!). I am so excited, I could PEE! lol! And on Saturday I'm going to Bunco with our monthly group of ladies, and that should be a blast too!

Well, back to crafty stuff. here is a calendar I altered and I used a Sweet November Fairy Stamp:
I colored Buttercup Reedweb with my copics a while ago. I was trying a new technique with the colors. I'm not too sure I achieved what I was going for, but I tried and she came out pretty! I used the same paper as the last calendar, but this time I added the big Prima flowers with a corduroy brad in the middle, some pearls, and the Fairy. Here's a close up of Buttercup:

Quick Calendar

Happy Wednesday Friends! I picked up some checkbook sized Calendars with intentions of altering them, and here is one that I made a couple weeks ago. I used this gorgeous paper from My Mind's Eye (I think) and just added to it a bit.
I added the white flowers and put pearls in their centers. I traced the plants with my white gel pen and colored the pink flowers on the paper with glitter pen. I then colored the bird with a Sakura Glaze pen to make him shiny. To finish up the calendar, I put a ribbon around it to hold it closed. I have more Calendars just waiting to be altered, so look for those SOON!

Fat Tuesday!

Ok, I know it's not really Fat Tuesday, but I want to show you some FOOD! Since food tends to be one of the main reasons people gain weight... Fat Tuesday just seemed an appropriate title. LOL! So, onto the FOOD! I have been trying all kinds of new recipes. I've loved most of them, and they have all been super easy and quick too! SCORE! First up is a turkey tetrazzini:It isn't the prettiest thing to look at, but it was YUMM-O! The whole thing was cooked in my Covered Baker in the MICROWAVE! Talk about EASY and QUICK! the main things used for this recipe include spaghetti noodles, chicken broth, deli turkey, and cheeses. The kids actually liked it too, so it received what I like to call the "3-Monster Approval". Now here is something that got mixed reviews from the kids. Once again, it doesn't look pretty, but I loved it! This is Salisbury Steak with Sweet Potato French Fries:
The recipe actually called for frozen O'brien potatoes, but since the commissary here doesn't seem to carry those, I just made the Sweet Potato Fries on the side. 2 of the Monsters loved the fries, but middle monster did NOT. They all loved the Salisbury Steaks, but didn't care for the veggies that I put on top. I love veggies, especially mushrooms, so I ate up all the veggies myself! lol! And, for the Grand Finale, a dish that received a "3 Monsters Approval PLUS!" This is Pronto Pasta:
This was a quick skillet meal that totally SCORED! Main ingredients included penne pasta, pasta sauce, turkey sausage, various veggies and cheese. It was SUPER yummy.

So those have been my adventures in cooking for last week. I have lots of new recipes standing by to be cooked this week, including some Oreo Truffles! I'll let you know how those come out. Thanks for stopping by!

More Valentines!

Good Monday Morning Friends! This is going to be a great week. My husband is home so I won't have to deal with our busy-ness all alone! Woohoo! I thought I'd show you some more Valentines I made. This little set went to my friend and coworker:This mouse image has been in my stash for a few years... I'm not sure where it's from since I got it in an image swap. I colored the mouse with my Copics and put it on the cover of this slider box. There are conversation hearts inside.
And I made up a little 3x3 card as well. This was very quick since there was no coloring involved. I just stamped out the big heart, used my punches, and stamped the sentiment on the medium heart. I drew the littlest heart on the small punched heart.

Super Simple Valentines

Hello AGAIN! I'm BACK with more valentines! I had to make more valentines for some of my other super duper fantabulous buds, so I made some simple yet cute treat holders. First is my Twizzlers Slider:There are two packs of Twizzlers in this slider. I used my Stampin Up and Martha Stewart Heart punches for the hearts on the front. I used the punches for the hearts on this treat cover too:
Inside this treat cover is a huge-normous hershey's kiss! Those are my super simple Valentines for some Superbly Fabulous friends!

I'm still alive!

Hello Friends! It's been a loooong time since I've posted a project so I'm hoping today's project doesn't disappoint! I know it's been about a month since Valentine's Day, but that is the last time I got crafty! Here is a candy holder I made for a fantabulously awesome friend:There is actually a giant box of Nerds wrapped in there! I used the digi image, Ebony, from TGF and colored her with my Copics. I also used a Stampin Up set for the sentiment "You Rock!" Cuz yes, my friend ROCKS! There are skulls embossed in clear on the pink cardstock and I used my new heart border punch for the two panels. OH, and those super cool skull embellishments are pins that I found at the Thrift Store! SCORE! When I saw them I immediately thought of my friend and new I had to add them to her Valentine. Here is a close up of my coloring on Ebony:
The hair on Ebony came out just as I planned. I wanted her to have pink tips since my fantabulous friend is known for her pink hair at times, lol. Also, I gave ebony pink sneakers since my friend has pink sneaks too!
