Did I show you this?

Hey there my friends. I was going through some pictures of projects I have made, and there are a few things that I don't think I've shown you yet!I made this scrapbook page for the TGF Royal battle back in April (I think it was April). My team didn't use my layout, but I was quite happy with how it turned out, especially since I hadn't made a page in probably a year!
I used the colors from the photo for the layout. My dear blogging friend, Gabby, made Angel Baby this crochet bunny, with a beanie! She also made me this gray beanie, but Angel Baby wanted to wear it and looked awesome in it. Angel LOVES her bunny, and this was a picture showing that. I used stamps from TGF's Whimsical Greetings, Hello Go Round, and the first Hope and Grace stamp set. You can click on the pictures to see the project up close if you'd like. Another Post FULL of Pics!!!

Hey there blog readers! I have yet another post full of pictures. This one has more than the last I believe. Do you all remember me mentioning that I was working on a project that I couldn't post since it was a gift? Well, I gave the gift to the recipient and got permission to post it.

I have had the pleasure of babysitting a little girl who has become part of our family, and Angel's First Best friend! Her name is Maia and since I'll be moving soon (and so will they, they're moving to Alaska!) I decided to make a scrapbook for her and her family. I have taken a ton of pictures of Maia and Angel while she was here, so I had plenty of pictures to scrap. I'm not going to explain all the pages (they are pretty self-explanatory) but I may mention a few things about some of the pages. I have an assignment

My Mom works for the Army. She works with a lot of soldiers who get deployed. One of those soldiers asked her if she knew anyone who did scrapbooking. Of course my Mom mentioned me. She signed me up to make a scrapbook for a Dad to give to his son before his deployment. I still have about a month to get this done, but I needed to get it going because I don't want to procrastinate and have to rush through it at the end! On these two pages, imagine a dad changing a diaper in the first one, then blowing raspberries on son's belly in the second one:I am keeping the pages VERY simple and as "manly" as possible. This book will be in the hands of a preschooler and I don't want it to be easily ruined. I want it to be durable for a little man's hands so there isn't any extra embellishment to these pages. I covered up the pictures for privacy-sake, but the pages really do look much better when you can see the pictures!
Also, I totally scored with this paper! I got a few packs of paper with 25 pages each at Borders. They were on sale for only $6 a pack! I'm so glad I got them because they have just the right colors and patterns for a "manly" scrapbook. The titles on all the pages so far are stickers from American Crafts that I have picked up along the way on sale.
So, wish me luck with the rest of the book. I hope the Dad and Son love it and they treasure it for years to come.

Getting Ready for my First Workshop!

I am having my first Stampin' Up! Workshop this Saturday, and I'm trying to get ready! My up line, Alisha, is coming over tomorrow to help me finalize my decisions on what projects to do, and help me organize myself so I'm ready for Saturday. I want to do a scrapbook page and this is my first idea:

I really like how this page shows off the stamp set, the white gel pen, and the white craft ink with the stampin around wheel, but it seems to be missing something... Any suggestions?

I also needed a card for my BIL's birthday, so I pulled out a stamp he's sure to appreciate and used Jen's weekly challenge to make this:

There is a family "thing" about bumblebees (or, in proper Lilavois' terms: a vonvon) so when I saw this image at Hambo Stamps, I had to have it! I also have his brother, who looks very similar but has a different pose. I kept the card VERY simple with NO embellishments and a neutral color palette. My BIL is not one for embellishment or anything too fancy. I hope he likes it!Yesterday I showed you all a picture of my Angel Baby at the park, conversing with Tigger. While she was having a serious conversation with her bestest friend, the boys were doing this: I think maybe Angel was trying to ask Tigger what the heck was going on with her brothers! LOL! Seriously though, we were having a good time on the exercise equipment while playing follow the leader. The boys thought it was great when I tried to do the acrobatic stuff that they were doing! I just kinda hurt myself...Well, I have a scrapbook to finish and a workshop to prepare for so I better get off this machine and get to work while the kids are still occupied!

Oh yeah, before I go, did you all see the new gadget I added to my blog? It's a following gadget, so who is going to be the first reader to be a follower too???

More SOA Challenges!

It's hard to believe, but I've actually gotten crafty this week AND been babysitting! Yup, that's me, Miss Multitasker. "The more I have to do, the better." LOL! Well, here are a couple more SOA (Stamping Out Alzheimer's; check out the details HERE) challenges: This is SOA #7. I was a little worried about doing a 2 page scrapbook layout, so I decided to stick with the 8x8 size page, and make a couple more pages for Angel Baby's Book. I hope you can click on it to get a closer look. Those are some of my favorite pics of Angel!

This one is SOA #4. I honestly don't like the combo of colors on this one. I failed myself when putting this together. I just kept going, thinking it would "come together in the end" but it didn't! I like the sketch though, so I'm going to have to give it another shot with different papers and colors. And No, my Mom will not be getting this card.

Also, I did this card: This card is not an SOA challenge entry, it is this weekend's sketch from Lauren Meader. When I saw this sketch posted on her blog, I immediately got inspired and had to try out my idea. So, Yes, my Mom will be getting this card for Mother's Day. And No, she won't see it before then because she NEVER reads my blog. (Unless I show her something on it) Lauren did 2 absolutely beautiful cards with her sketch and they are both very different takes on the same layout! Plus, I turned the card long-ways even though her sketch has it being a tall card. Go check it out HERE and give it a try. It's a great sketch!

Stamp Out Alzheimers Challenges

Hi all! So, I was blog hopping the other day and I heard about this really cool virtual crop. For a small donation I entered this virtual crop to help Stamp Out Alzheimers. My Grandpa Louie had Alzheimers before he passed about, and that was just a couple years ago. The way it took away his personality, it was horrible. He was no longer himself. Any little thing I can do to help get one step closer to a cure, I'll do it. And this Crop is something I can do! So, here are 4 of the challenges that I have completed so far. This first card is SOA1:

This challenge was to make a Boy's Birthday Card with the Number being the focal point. I wrote the sentiment in myself (obviously) because I didn't have a stamp to say what I wanted to say. Next is SOA2:This challenge was a scrapbook sketch. It was a simple sketch (which I love) so I was able to keep the focus on the picture. This picture was taken when Angel Baby was just a day old and big brother Andrew came to the NICU to visit her. I love that you can see how small her little hand is compared to her brothers. I used a neat little embellishment on the page too. It's an acrylic frame with the words "heaven sent" on it. The "love" is a pink sticker that I've had for a long time. Next up is SOA3: I used one of my favorite stamp sets on this one. This was an inspiration challenge. The colors and layout were inspired by the inspiration picture. There will be more details on my SCS gallery. And finally, SOA11:This challenge was to make a nifty notebook. I changed the size of the notebook to fit a square pad of sticky notes. Since this notebook was requested by my 4 year old, I used this boxing bee stamp from Hambo Stamps because it reminds me of him! Well, that's all for this post. I'm wiped! I've started babysitting and taking care of 2 babies all day saps me of my extra energy. Hopefully I'll get more of the challenges for SOA done this week! Thanks for stopping by.
