Happy Veteran's Day!

Hi Everyone! I hope your Veteran's day was a good one. I thanked my Mom for being a Veteran Today. Just that little act of thanks made her happy, and that made me happy too. My mom served over 25 years in the Army, and part of that as a single parent. She is a wonderful woman and I hope I can be like her someday.
I also thanked my favorite Veteran; my husband (for those of you who don't know or are new to my blog). He's currently active duty in the Air Force and is serving his unaccompanied tour in Korea. It's almost over (thank you God) and then we'll be able to be all together as a family again. Hopefully in time for Christmas!
Well, here are some of the projects we did at our Stamp-A-Rama last month. This first project is a great gift card holder. Here is the back and it uses the Stampin' Up! stamp set, Winter Post from the Holiday Mini catalog: This is the inside and it uses Snow Swirled:
And this is the front. It uses the snowflakes from Snow Swirled and the Christmas stamp from the hostess set, Punches Three:

I loved making that gift card holder and I think I'll be using that idea in the future! We also made two adorable ornaments. (please excuse the fuzziness, I think there was a fingerprint on my camera lens!) The first one is my favorite out of the two:
If I make this again, I'm going to put a picture of one of my kids in the star instead of a bell.
The second ornament used a neat technique with the scallop edge punch that I've been meaning to try:
I had a lot of fun with these projects last month. I'll show you the rest of the projects later. It's time for baths for the kiddos and then bed! Yea for school tomorrow! It will be the first day in about 5 days that both boys will be healthy enough to go to school! lol! Andrew caught the flu too, so we've had a sick kid in this house everyday for a week and a half. It's exhausting having sick kids! sheesh!
Until next post, be blessed!

I promised you pictures...

BUT my laptop won't connect to the internet and all my pics or on it! UGH! So, I'm sorry I don't have my SAR cards to show you today. So, this is gonna be a short post. Mom and I had the day off, so we went card-crazy and whipped out a bunch of christmas cards. We've decided to duplicate a few of them to send out for Christmas, but others were too involved so those won't be duplicated for mass production, lol! I also have to finish my top-secret project tonight, so I will have to take pictures of that for you too. Expect a lot of pictures this coming week! And because you are all wonderful readers, here's a picture to appease you. It's Angel eating her first lollipop! Can you tell that she LOVED it?!? LOL! I hope you all have a nice Veteran's day tomorrow and until next post, be blessed!

No pictures, The Flu, and Santa's Sweet Shoppe

Yep, no pictures. Sorry about that. I know some of you come and check out the pics and move on... but I don't have anything new to show you just yet. I do have some cards I've been meaning to photograph that I made at our last StampARama. You'll really like some of the creations! But you'll have to come back tomorrow (or Monday maybe) to see them. I don't want to take a pic of them until the sun is up because the pictures come out so much better that way. I've also been working on a Top Secret project/gift for someone, and it has to be done by tomorrow... so I've been keeping busy with that and will show it off if I get permission after I give it to it's owner. Ok, enough of that, what about the Flu?
Well, my boys got vaccinated yesterday at school. Andrew got the shot, but I didn't think Ashton would go through with it if I signed him up for the shot, so I signed him up for the nasal spray instead... Bad idea! He got the actual flu just about 8 hours after the nasal spray. Yeah, it sucks! I'm sure it's not as bad as it would have been if he had caught it from someone, but still! He's had a low-grade fever, achiness, diarhea, and vomiting since yesterday. Yuck! Andrew's doing just fine, by the way.
Well, I bet by now (if you're still reading) you are wondering about the rest of my blog title. WELL, I found the Cutest, whimsical Christmas stamp set! It's called Santa's Sweetshoppe and it's a DoodleFactory Set by Starving Artistamps! I have loved the Doodlefactory images for a while now, I just never delved into that world because I know that once I step in, I'll be stuck and forever wanting more! Well... looky HERE! I can Win a set of the new stamps on their blog! I am now a stalker, uh, follower of their blog and website. So, go check out their stuff and try to win the new set too! And if you look around their online store, you'll see alot of stamps with sentiments that you can't find the likes of anywhere else! I love their sentiments with their newer Halloween images. You've got to go look HERE! Funny, huh?
I hope I didn't lose all my readers. I will be posting pictures again soon, promise!
Until next post, be blessed!

Hello!!!!

Ok, I couldn't think up a clever title, so "Hello" is all I could think of! So, it's been a crazy month so far, and we're not even a whole week into it. I won't go into boring details, but we're having "issues" with our PCS orders. Any prayer for that would be wonderful! With all the stuff going on, I haven't done a lot of paper crafting lately but I have been making a few cards here and there. I have however discover a new planet! Have you heard of Paper Craft Planet? It's like Splitcoaststampers and Facebook combined! It's so cool to play on the PCPlanet and get to know all these crafters that I've been admiring. You really should go check it out! The link to my page is HERE. I'm still working on it, but after you check out my page, hop around to other pages and check out all the fun stuff. Have fun but come back and check out my cards!
Here is my first card. This was a fun little experiment with vellum and glitter. I stamped the rose in silver encore ink and sprinkled it with glitter. Then I heat embossed it so that the ink and glitter would stay put. Here's another view of the card so you can see the glitter on the rose a little more and the pink rhinestones after the "thanks".
This card was sent to my nephew for his birthday. It's kinda weird to think of him as my nephew since he's all grown up, in the air force, and married! Anyway, I had fun experimenting with this one too. I sponged the setting, autumn sun and the darkening sky. I paper pieced the owls from Gina K's set using some Basic Grey paper, and I colored in their eyes and feet, as well as the tree, with my copics.
Well, that's it for today. I'm feeling a little burnt out with LIFE right now so if I don't post for a couple more days, don't forget about me, k?

Happy Halloween!

Hi Blog Readers! I hope you are having a wonderful Halloween with lots of fun and candy! Since I already showed you all the Halloween cards I made, here are a couple Thank you cards I made for Angel's birthday party. Since her party was Tinkerbell themed, so were the thank you cards. I decided that I needed to use up some of the adorable "girly" paper I've had in my stash for awhile so I used different ones on all these cards.
Some of the paper is DCWV, some is Basic Grey, and others are paperbilities.

I used Georgia Pacific cardstock for the bases of the cards. The Tinkerbell stamp is Hero arts and the Thank You sentiment is Stampin' Up!

Oh yeah, and I colored Tink with my copics (of course) except on the two cards shown above. Those were colored with my SU! markers.

So, that's about it for today. I think I need a little more sugar... I'm feeling tired. Luckily today is "gorge yourself on candy" day!
Happy Halloween everyone and until next post, be blessed.

Birthdays and RAKs

It's Wednesday, are you all making it through the week OK? I sure hope so! I've recently gotten some great RAKs in the mail that I want to share with you all. These are two more Halloween cards that my wonderful friend Julie sent to me. Julie has a blog too, and you can check it out HERE. Julie came up with the sketch for the first one on her own (I love that silver embellishment!) and the second one was CASEd from Splitcoaststampers.
I love how she did the sky on this second one!
Speaking of RAKs, one of my favorite bloggers, Donna Baker, is having a Blog Candy, just because! So, if you want to try to win some wonderful goodies, and see some even more wonderful projects, pop over to her blog HERE. But come back and read the rest of my post ok? Her stuff is great, but don't forget about me! lol!
Anyways, here are a couple birthday cards that I made last weekend. The first one used the last of these Bella images with the cake. She might be called Cakeabella, but I can't remember.
I used some DCWV paper from the All Dressed Up matstack, colored her with my Copics, and added some sticky rhinestones that I picked up at Wal Mart.
This next card was for one of our little neighbors who just turned 3. I used a new stamp from Kim Hughes' new little boy set. I love this set, and just need more excuses to use them! The card was actually a lot more cheery and bright, but it was a grey, overcast day so I couldn't get a decent picture.
Well, that's it for today. Stop by again sometime, OK?
Until next post, be blessed!
