Oh boy, I'm BEHIND!

Yep, I'm very behind with my birthday cards! I have five cards to finish for next week alone! So, I made these belated birthday cards for some birthdays that I missed last month and last week.I made them all really simple and just "framed" the hippo with scored lines. Can you see them?The balloon and party hat are seperate stamps, I just stamped them where I wanted them. I drew in the balloon string, and some frilly hem on the bottom of some of the party hats. Andrew wanted to help me out so I let him color this hippo: He wanted it read and I think he did a decent job! And just for the fun of it, here are some silly pictures of Angel baby! Her hair is finally long enough on tip to hold a bow, so I put this one in and took this pic. And in this pic, she's dancing with her Nana and Einstein. Einstein is such a jealous dog. Whenever Angel is getting attention, he runs up and tries to steal the attention away from her! He'll even stand on her when I'm trying to change her diaper! It's Aloha Friday!

Happy Aloha Friday everyone! Aloha Friday is a holiday celebrated EVERY Friday here on the islands... It's celebrated with a smile, and sometimes an aloha shirt! lol!
Anyway, here are the rest of the Christmas Cards that I've made so far. I still have a lot to go in order to have enough cards for everyone I want to send them to. These particular cards are going to Gina K. Designs to be sent overseas (if you don't know what I'm talking about, read yesterday's post). This first one was made a LOOOONG time ago but never sent out. I just added the sentiment on the front and it finally felt "done". This next one was also made a LOOOOOONG time ago but never finished or sent. I added the fram and ribbon, and a sentiment on the inside. This last one is a favorite of mine! I used Kim Hughes' stamp set and paper pieced the trees. It was fun and I can't wait to make more for my personal use.
On a personal note, my oldest is going to be 10 on Monday. I can't believe it. He's such a little (big) man already. Wow, time has flown by! Here he is yesterday after his new haircut. Isn't he handsome? And here's a pic of all three of my rascals playing in the upstairs landing.

Christmas in October

Hello faithful blog readers! I got a few emails and comments about the pictures from Angel baby's party and I'm glad you liked them. If you haven't seen them yet, scroll down to the previous post and check out my Smilebox. Smilebox is a pretty cool thing to use to show off pictures. I discovered it through Lauren Meader's blog, but didn't really like the digital scrapbooking idea, and that is what I thought it was. Well, it is a lot more than that. I think I'll be playing with it a little more, and maybe I'll even upgrade from the free stuff, to the paid stuff so I can print some of it out!
And did you see my new blog header? I made it myself! I know it's not all "professional" but I think it's nice. Nicer than the plain one I had before anyway. I got the idea from Cornish Heritage Farms' weekly challenge. CHF is where I get all my adorable Kim Hughes stamps.
Well, I bet by now you are wondering what is up with my title? I've been working on some Christmas cards off and on for a little while so that I can build up my supply before we move. I don't think I'll be able to get ANY stamping done between November 19th (when we fly out of Hawaii) and Christmas, so I need to do my christmas cards NOW! Here are the first few cards that I have gotten done:
I kept them all pretty simple, used the same colors, papers and stamp set and made sure that they wouldn't be too bulky to send in a regular A2 envelope. These first four cards use Heidi Swap ghost hearts and the rest of the embellishments are from Making Memories. Also, this sketch is from a CASED sketch that I used before, but I can't remember who from.
The sentiment and adorable snowman stamps are from Kim Hughes' Heart Warmers stamp set, the paper is a mix of Stampin' Up!, Georgia Pacific, and Daisy Bucket Designs. The Snowman actually has a heart on him, but to make it coordinate with the paper and American Crafts ribbon, I poked a Making Memories star brad through it.
Well, AFTER I made all these Christmas cards (and a few more random ones) WCMD came around! World Card Making Day (WCMD) is an actual holiday celebrated all over the world on the first Saturday of October by papercrafters. Gina K. Designs is one of a TON of stamping companies that is doing an event for WCMD. You can read all the details of GKD's event HERE and HERE. In a nutshell, stampers are going to make simple Christmas cards and send them to GKD. Then the cards will be sent to soldiers who are currently deployed so that those soldiers and can cards home to their loved ones during the holidays. This year, my kids and I will actually get to spend Christmas with my husband! Last year he was in Korea for Christmas and we missed him SO much. He missed Angel's first Christmas and it was not an easy day to get through, but this year we will be all together. And to top it off, we'll have snow! Because we have gone through it, I empathize with the soldiers and their families so I think I'll be sending a few (or more!) of these to GKDs, and I'm going to make a few more with some GKD stamps as well.

Angel's first birthday Party!

Also, here is a close up of the card that I made for her. I got these Halobella stamp images through a swap (we swapped images only-not cards) and I got them just in time to make Angel's card. It is the perfect image for Angel's card as the angel has brown curly hair, and I think Angel will too! I added sparkles with my Sakura gel pen to the wings and some of the words on the designer paper from Nana's Nursery collection. And here is the card that my upline, Alisha, made for Angel. I love the DP she used and that sock monkey stamp set is at the top of my wishlist! Isn't that a cool way to give a gift card? I have got to learn how to do that and then share it with everyone I know. Speaking of sharing, a friend of mine asked me how to make that punched out owl from a swap card I posted a few posts back. Would you all be interested if I did little photo tutorials on my blog? I don't know a ton of neat techniques and stuff, but if you ask for something, I may be able to tutorial it for ya. Just let me know!

Gina K. Designs TTC Swap!

Recently I participated in a swap where we all made trading cards that fit into altoid-style tins. This swap was so much fun because we had to use Gina K. Designs stamps and all the GKD fans that participated made beautiful cards! At first the swap was open to 10 stampers, but so many people wanted to participate that it was expanded to 30! I kinda wish I had been in the 3rd group also, but I figured that being in 2 groups was enough work and I didn't want to gte in over my head.

On another note, I have 3 followers! Have you clicked on their images and checked out their blogs lately? I have and they have some great projects to show you so you should go check them out. Another blog that I found a while ago, then lost, then found again (heehee) is Curt's Blog! Not only does he craft, but he has two giant schnauzers that look just like giant Einstein's! Here is are a couple pictures of Angel and Einstein playing together recently.

They have a ton of fun together, and Einstein doesn't mind Angel pulling on his hair very much (usually).

Well, I better get going here. I have some stuff to finish up for Angel's birthday party tomorrow and dinner to cook.

Happy Birthday Angel Baby!

One year ago today, October 1st, Angel Rose came into our lives. Her birth was full of miracles. Angel was born 12 weeks premature, but was a fiesty little fighter from the beginning. Here is a picture of her just a couple hours old. It was the first time I got to hold my littlest miracle. Through many prayers, love, and blessings we brought Angel home on Thanksgiving day! Here she is visiting with her Great Grandma (Abuelita) a couple days after she came home.
Even though Angel's birth was difficult, we all knew that through God all things are possible. We have celebrated a year's worth of blessings with Angel including her first Christmas.

Today Angel is a happy, healthy and very loved little girl. She truly is a light in our day. All we have to do is see that little face smile up at us and we all just melt! Here is a picture of her that I took today. She wouldn't keep the bow in her hair! LOL!Happy first birthday Angel Baby! We love you!
