I'm so glad it's Friday

Yesterday was Ashton's last day of preschool (although he will be going back there for part of the summer) and they had graduation. He was such a HUGE HAM! I video taped it so his Dad and Grampa Bob could see it. And I got some time to get a little crafty and made a few thank you cards. I used a card I've made in the past and made a few more cuz I liked the other one so much. In the first pic you can see all the new cards and the original one I made in the lower left hand corner. I changed up the colors, papers, and embellishments, but they are all pretty much the same. I think the red ones are my favorite though. Something about the colors makes it look so bright and refreshing.And since I didn't have enough of those little butterfly buttons for all the cards, I used some buttons on the blue ones.
I have an exciting week coming up, so I'm looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend. I hope you all have a nice weekend too!

Just for fun

Hi There Blog readers! Here are a couple of cards I made just for fun. On this one the flower is an outline sticker that you are supposed to color in, but on this black paper that wouldn't have worked. Besides, I think it looks pretty neat just as it is. This froggy was colored already, and I put the card together using it as inspiration. I think it turned out nice and colorful! I'll add a sentiment on the inside, when I have a reason to use it.This card didn't want to photograph well. I guess the silver shimmery paper just didn't like the light in the room. (And it is cloudy today) I'll put all the details of these cards in my SCS gallery. If you need to details, click on the link to my gallery (it's on the side panel). Here's a close up picture of Angel Baby. Her eyes are staying blue (for now!) and her hair is starting to grow in and get darker. She's going to be a beauty IMHO! LOL! I'll leave you today with a pic of all three of my kiddos.

This was taken on Memorial Day. Andrew heard Angel Baby wake up so he came into my room to check on her (I was half asleep in bed). He changed her poopy diaper and took her into his bed so I could sleep in! He's such a wonderful kid! He's up there on his top bunk with the baby and Ashton's the goofy one hanging off the side of the bed post. The week's almost over! Yea! Next week is going to be a great one! More on that later...

A couple cards

Hi all! I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We had a nice, relaxing time. We went to see the new Narnia movie, Prince Caspian. It was a good movie! I recommend it, but I recommend the book more...

On Sunday, Mom and I performed with our sign dance team at the beach. Waikiki Beach Chaplaincy has a church service every Sunday right on the beach. People come in their bathing suits and lounge on their towels while worshiping God. It's pretty neat. So, our sign dance performed a couple songs, then the kids and us just hung out for a couple hours. YES, I got burned! And I was in the shade the whole time with Angel Baby. She didn't get pink at all (sunblock-duh) but I forgot to put sunblock on myself. Ashton was lathered up with sunblock no less than 3 times, and he burnt anyway! Oh well, that's what aloe lotion is for, right? LOL! So, I made a couple cards for the Gina K. release party. They were both sketch challenges. The first one uses some DP from Basic Grey and stamps from two of Melanie Muenchinger's stamp sets. I have been wanting to pair up this paper with the stamps since they both have the giraffe's on them. And those three little hearts in the paper were the perfect element to bring onto the cards with the three heart brads. Those brads have been in my stash for a long time. I just can't seem to use them up!

This next card is the coolest little thing! The sketch was an oval like this, so I used my oval template cutout and it worked out pretty well. Yes, it's all lopsided, but I did that on purpose (REALLY!). LOL! I hope you all have a great rest of the week. And thank you for stopping by, I truly appreciate it!

My first Ball and a Train Ride

Warning: There is nothing crafty in this post! LOL! Just some ramblings about my first Ball and a train ride...
Last Thursday was the annual Military Police Ball. My Mom works for the MP brigade on Schofield, so she always goes with my stepdad. This year she insisted I go too. She said I need to get out of the house more often and do "grown up" things! LOL! I guess she's right, kinda. So, here's Mom and Me in all our goofyness, uh, I mean glory. The ball was at the Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore of Oahu. I'd never been there before. It was beautiful!It's amazing how much darker Mom is than me! LOL! She loves the sun a lot more than I do... And here's a pic of us with Mom's Boss. Also, Mom's hubby (aka "GrampaBob"). We had a good time, but man, I feel old cuz by 9 o'clock I was beat! The next morning Mom, Angel Baby and I went with Ashton's class on a train ride. Here we are getting on the train...And here we are riding the train... The other little guy with us was Ashton's partner. And please ignore my missing eyebrows. The lady who waxed me got a little "wax happy". I am NOT happy with the results and I will NOT be going back there. THANK GOD for eyebrow pencils and that He grows hair back. Next is a pic of my pretty momma and baby at our half way stop. We were way out past the Ko Olina resort. Can you see the VOG in the background?
This is the little island that is behind my Mom. See how NOT clear it is? Yeah, VOG. It's real. It is Volcanic smog like stuff. VOG stands for Volcanic O-something Gases. It's much clearer out there today.So, the train ride was a total of 90 minutes. EVERYONE got sleepy. See Angel Baby under the the jacket? Of course you don't but she's there. The wind from the train was bothering her, so she got covered up when she fell asleep. And see my Mom? Yep! She's ASLEEP! LOL! She couldn't handle it either. Trust me, almost all the kiddos, and lots of the adults, fell asleep on the way back to the station...Here we are back at the station. This train was one of the first to ride the rails on Oahu. I'm glad David Cook Won...

I liked his performances on American Idol better than David Archuleta's. David A. just needs more experience, and he'll get that anyway. So, today's been a day! I didn't get any crafty stuff completed, but there are a couple projects that I did start. Here are a couple things I did before:

I needed a birthday card for a little girl, and I already had this bird colored, so I worked from that and made this cute little card. Also, I've had this idea to decorate blocks with this stamp set called Hip Hop Accessories by Melanie Muenchinger. She had a contest using this set so I made the blocks and entered but didn't win. Oh well, I had fun anyway and was honored to be one of her top 12 picks. Finally, this little cutie had been hanging around our house since yesterday afternoon, so I took it into the Humane Society this morning. I really wish I could have found it a good home, but I don't know anyone (besides you, Kristel!) who would take it in. All day I kept thinking that if Kristel had her animal rescue, I wouldn't have to worry about this cute kitty. And it was such a nice kitty too. It was friendly, but scared of people at the same time. I hope it does well at the shelter.

My first swap

I edited my last post. If you didn't read the edited post, go ahead and "scroll on down!" (said in my best Price Is Right voice)

So, I'm in my very first card swap. There are about 20 people in this swap. We are making Owl Cards! Since I have the "Owl Always Love You" stamp set from Gina K. Designs, I decided to participate. The way it works is this: I make multiples of a card then send them in to the leader of the swap. The leader collects all the cards from all the participants and divides them up. Then I will get a bunch of different owl cards back! Since I'm sending in 5 + 1, I should get 5 back (the one is for the leader of the swap). I made these cards and hope they will be worthy of the swap. Since I've never done this before, I don't know if my cards are good enough. I feel like they need something more. What do you think?

Yes, you counted right. I made 7 cards. I wanted to keep one of course! LOL! And no, they aren't all the same. I needed to change some of them up with the different owl images because the Owl guarding the eggs felt left out... I told you I was a dork, didn't I? Have a great night all. Busy busy bee...

Yep, that's me. Kinda like these guys: Lol! Yeah, I'm a dork. Actually I'm so busy that I've got to run out the door and don't have time to finish this post, so I'll be editing this later... ETA: Hi! I'm back! Sorry for ditching the post like that. I got a call from my Mom to meet her before my oldest son's baseball practice, and had to run out the door to get there in time. Sooooo, I won the two boxing bee stamps from Hambo Stamps. They have a blog game called Acronitions and I've won it twice, hence gotten 2 wonderful stamps from them!
